I hired Westring Construction to transform two small 1970-style baths into a larger “green” one. The craftsmanship was excellent from design to finishing touches. The staff was friendly and responsive and all were willing to work out green issues and solve green problems: finding out who, locally, sells good condition, recycled products, such as clawfoot tubs and solid hardwood doors or what chemicals different products contained. I would gladly recommend Westring Construction for home remodeling projects.

The first was as general contractor for soffit repair and painting, porch repair, ceiling replacement, and wood floor repair and refinishing. I live near Albion and have a cream brick house built in 1853 and it needs some care. James kept me informed as to the timeline, unexpected repair issues and options, as well as cost and materials issues. He was (and still is) extremely helpful in offering advice in my restoration efforts.

The second project was summer of 2007 when I decided that since I was having the kitchen cabinets replaced, the kitchen could stand some insulation and finish work. James was general contractor for insulating, electrical, plumbing, unanticipated floor support restructuring, floor replacement, painting, masonry repair, and wood trim replacement to match the rest of the house. I am particularly pleased with the trim and increased energy efficiency.

The third project has just been finished and involved enclosing a back porch and transforming it into a four season sunroom. I am very pleased with it and look forward to enjoying it next winter.

Other than wishful thinking about free repairs done overnight, I could ask for little more from Westring Construction. Westring employees and subcontractors have always been very pleasant and easy to work with. I have been especially pleased with them as they have done solid reliable work which should not have to be redone in my lifetime. I have been more than happy working with them and intend to continue as the need arises.
