James Westring, Owner

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Administration with 29 years of hands-on and executive experience in the building industry. Certified Remodeler (CR) and Green Certified Professional (GCP) with the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).

WORK HIGHLIGHTS: Starting with his first construction job at the age of 16, James has experience in framing, siding, inside trim, and historic home preservation and restoration. James' career in construction includes successful work as an Estimator, Project Manager, Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Safety Director, and Contracts Administrator for both residential and commercial contractors.

ON THE SIDE: When he isn't in the office or on a job site, he enjoys fly fishing, baseball games, billiards, hiking and spending time with his boys.


Kris Gunderson, Project Manager

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree from the UW Stevens Point; Journeyman’s Certificate from the Carpentry Union Apprenticeship School in Roseville, MN. Is a Certified Kitchen and Bath Specialist (CKBS) and a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS)

WORK HIGHLIGHTS: Kris has been in the construction industry for over 28 years which includes being a Journeyman Carpenter for 27 years and owning her own business for 6 years.

ON THE SIDE: Kris takes pleasure in running, cross county skiing, and spending time with her friends and family.


Heather Weatherbee, Office Manager

EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management

WORK HIGHLIGHTS: With over ten years in the accounting industry, Heather has also worked in the medical industry, hospitality industry, and even a little bit of time in the construction industry before joining the Westring team.

ON THE SIDE: Heather enjoys spending time with her family, long car rides, knitting, and going on walks.


Rick Monserud, Carpenter

SPECIAL SKILLS: 6 years in the carpentry world with the last 3 years specializing in insulation.

WHY CARPENTRY: Rewarding work, applying “green” practices is important and enjoys doing work with hands.

ON THE SIDE: Rick is truly an outdoorsman. He is a certified white water rescue instructor. He enjoys canoeing, nordic skiing, and camping.



Doug Bator, Carpenter

HISTORY: Doug has been a carpenter for 25 years and worked mostly in Chicago. Doug was in the Navy for 4 years as a sonar tech. He has lived in Wisconsin for the past 4 years.

ON THE SIDE: Doug enjoys playing pool, fixing computers, cross county skiing and doing interior design work.
